Deep red with dark chocolate and blackberry, smokey notes and ripe stewed fruits on the nose. The wine is velvety and full bodied with dried fruits, a restrained sweetness and soft tannins. Notes of cocoa and coffee linger on the finish.

ABV: 20% Bottle Size: 75cl Sustainable Farming
Additional Information: First planted in 1877 by Doña Antonia Ferriera, at the heart of the Douro Superior Region, the vineyards were all replanted during the 1980s in varietal blocks matched to areas of schist, granite and alluvial soils with the traditional grapes of Portugal’s Douro DOC. Winemaker Francisco Olazaba and the Olazabal family (direct descendants of Ferrier) today run the estate of Quinta do Vale Meão growing, making and bottling a number of award winning ports, wines and olive oils.
The Meandro is very drinkable on its own but will also go with strong cheese or chocolate / berry based desserts.
