Lemon in color, the wine has a bright, fresh floral nose with some bruised apple and ripe pear, tropical fruit and citrus blossom. In the mouth delicious orchard fruit, some wet stone, a persistent streak of acidity and subtle saline notes finish things up nicely.

Additional Information: Vara y Pulgar Blanco is a white wine produced in Jerez that stands out for its Atlantic profile. Made primarily from Palomino Fino, Vigiriega Blanco, and Malvasía, it offers remarkable uniqueness thanks to the albariza soils. It ferments in butts and matures for over 12 months in oak barrels and foudres.
Vara y Pulgar Blanco is part of the new wave of non-fortified whites in Jerez. This blend serves to amplify the Palomino grape's inherent character, resulting in a wine with vibrant fruit flavors, ripe freshness, and a pronounced saline minerality. With bright acidity, expressive citrus and stone fruit aromas, and a refreshing, persistent finish, Vara y Pulgar Blanco is intended for enjoyment and consumption upon release.
Winemaker Alberto Orte has dedicated a huge portion of his life to discovering great terroirs, resurrecting ancient clones, and replanting nearly extinct grape varieties that would otherwise be lost to modernity. Alberto produces wine in many regions throughout the Iberian Peninsula, most notably in Jerez, Valdeorras and Rioja.
Alberto believes that low yields, balanced soils, and top-quality raw materials are three fundamental factors to creating terroir-reflective and balanced wines. He produces two types of wines: wines of unique terroirs, which are labeled as Alberto Orte, and wines from village- designated vineyards that are more approachable, which are labeled as Vinos Atlántico.
