Bodegas Ameztoi, Txakoli de Getaria Rubentis Rosado 2021

A beautiful coloured rose, elegant on the nose with delicate white flowers and raspberries. Energetic in the mouth with a vibrant acidity and spritz, flavours of strawberry and cherry. Refreshing.

Additional Information: The Ameztoi family are fifth Generation winemakers located in Getaria, overlooking the sea. Vines of Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza are grown on traditional terraces on steep slopes which benefit from the cooling coastal breezes.  

The region’s first pink wine, Rubentis, was created 15 years ago and is the family’s flagship wine. The black hondarrabi beltza grapes come from a vineyard planted in 1840, preserved by the Ameztoi family for generations. Grapes are hand harvested and combined for destamming. After direct pressing, grapes are fermented together using indigenous yeasts in stainless steel for 20 days. Towards the end of alcoholic fermentation, the tanks are closed to preserve the naturally occurring carbonation and then kept chilled to near freezing before bottling to preserve the spritz.
