Tapatio Blanco Tequila 110
Tapatio Blanco Tequila 110
Thick and oily on the palate, a spicy kick to start, black pepper and chilli. Sweet, roasted agave, and a rich grape and sultana fruitiness. The peppers from the nose return, turning from sweet to dry. The higher strength (55%) intensifies the flavours of this fine blanco.
Country: Mexico
ABV: 55% Btl Size 50cl Vegetarian, Vegan
Additional Information: A big, rich and surprisingly complex spirit, especially considering that it is fresh from the still. The extra strength over the blanco allows the flavours to sing. The Camarena family's original distillery was destroyed during the Mexican revolution. Don Felipe Camarena founded La Altena in 1937 and the business is now run by his grandchildren.
La Altena uses the traditional production methods, grinding the agave with a stone wheel called a tahona and foot-treading the pulp prior to fermentation and distillation.
