Established in the 1940s by Francesco Sobrero, this family-run winery has been carefully managed by third generation Flavio Sobrero since 2000.
Over 16 hectares, three quarters of which are located in the heart of Langhe’s Castiglione Falletto region. Producing some of the region’s top-tier Langhe Nebbiolo, Sobrero is also lucky enough to own vines within six magnificent Crus: Villero, Pernanno, Ornato, Piantà, Valentino and Parussi.
Organically farmed grapes are grown on the calcareous clay soils from three prestigious vineyards Pernanno, Valentino, and Piantà to make this classic style Barolo.
Fermentation is spontaneous, and the wine is aged in large oak barrels 24 months in oak botti varying in size form 25 to 50 hectoliters prior to bottling to develop its complexity and refined tannins. Flavio’s philosophy is to create Barolo that is true to its roots and we think he has succeeded!
