A vibrant pale golden in colour. Spicy gingerbread aromas with hints of green apple. On the palate, creamy in texture with notes of nougat allied to yeasty flavours. This is a soft and mellow off-dry white with a whiplash of acidity.

Additional Information:  Frangey is one of 16 villages in the Savoie given cru status under the AOC (and only one of four allowed to produce Roussette (Altese) at village level. Bruno Lupin, who trained in Beaune before moving to head up the Swiss co-operative, Cave de Genève then finally coming back to his home village, is renowned in the area and only makes three wines. Two of which have very small productions and are extremely difficult to get a  hold of!

Hand farmed organically from  the hillside of Les Aricoques at 350m to 500m from south facing vines grown on limestone soil.

In the winery, Bruno is hands-off with minimal intervention. After a manual harvest, native yeasts start the fermentation in stainless steel, sulfur levels are kept to a minimum. Malolactic fermentation is partial, around 20% for a balance between body and freshness. The acidities are never corrected and the wines ferment to dryness. The latter point is important, Roussette has very high acidity, and most producers leave a certain amount of residual sugar to cover that up, to the detriment of the wine’s structure and ability to age.
