Domaine Pouderoux Maury 2018 Vendage
Domaine Pouderoux Maury 2018 Vendage
Deep garnet in colour, with aromas of red fruits, cherry, blackberry and licorice. Black cherry, plums and red fruits on the palate with hints of spice. A silky yet full bodied wine with smooth tannins, a balanced and well structured wine.
Country: France Region: Maury, Languedoc-Roussillon Grape: Grenache
ABV: 15.5% Bottle Size: 50cl Organic
Additional Information: Robert Pouderoux has six generations of vigneron and winemaking behind him; his family have been growing and producing wine in Maury since 1826. Today Robert and his wife Catherine own 18 hectares across two parcels in Maury.
Hand picked grapes from 30 to 50 year old vines grown on black shale were used for this wine. They are selected and sorted in situ before being de-stemmed, fermented (with skins) and macerated for 30 days. Alcohol reaches 5% to 8% before fortified grape juice is added. The unfiltered and non-clarified wine is bottled in June following the harvest and is allowed to mature slowly in an airconditioned cellar, to preserve the aromas and freshness within the wine.
Will pair perfectly with chocolate based desserts and blue cheeses. A very good (lower alcohol) alternative to Port.
