Today Robert and his wife Catherine own 18 hectares across two parcels in Maury. Low yields of grapes hand picked from 30 to 50 year old vines grown on black shale, clay and limestone marl were used for this wine. Selected and sorted in situ before a long maceration. The Grande Reserve has two years in barrel followed by a year outside in glass demijohns before spending a further three years in cask before being bottled without fining.
Will pair well with dishes containing chocolate or caramel and desserts containing stewed apples, sweet orange and almonds. Will also complement blue cheeses. Ready to drink now but will age for another few years.
