Pure and flinty on the nose with dried rosemary and white pepper. Concentrated minerality, bright and crystalline on the palate. Depth of flavour and extremely long, saline and spicy finish.

Additional Information: Weingut Dönnhoff is an estate in the Nahe region of the Rhineland, and is regarded as one of Germany's very best producers, 80% of wines produced here are Riesling. The Dönnhoff family has been making wine in this region since the 1750s. Helmut Dönnhoff took over in 1971 where the estate expanded to around 20 hectares, and also grew in reputation. Today his son, Cornelius Dönnhoff, oversees all operations and Dönnhoff is considered to be one of Germany’s top producers.
The parcel ‘Höllenpfad im Mühlenberg’ within the Höllenpfad Erste Lage (Premier Cru) vineyard, has the estate’s oldest vines averaging 30-40 years. The first production of a Großes Gewächs wine was in 2017. Yields are capped at 40 hl/ha. Manual harvest undertaken with fermentation in seasoned barrels and stainless steel tanks.
