A Chardonnay dominant blend, a compellingly pure and complex wine.
The Pinot Noir acts as the perfect foil to the richness of the Chardonnay, leaving one agog at the power and elegance. Rich brioche with some caramel, full-bodied and round but also dry, pure lemon-fresh and sightly tropical.
Country: France Region: Champagne, Grand Cru village of Aÿ
Grape: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
ABV: 12% Bottle Size: 75cl
Additional Information: One of the original Grandes Marques of 1882, Domaine Edouard Brun is a small, family-owned House in the prestigious, Grand Cru village of Aÿ.
Today Edouard Brun’s Grandsons, Emmanuel and Philippe run the company and produce approximately 250,000 bottles annually (compared to Moet’s 30 million)
They own eight hectares of vineyards (accounting for around half their production) and grower contracts in place that permit a larger scale production than would otherwise be possible.
The Domaine produces wines that are rich and rounded in style, partly due to the use of neutral barrels for all Pinot Noir. Prolonged lees and bottle age are a hallmark of Brun's vintage wines, bringing autolytic and secondary flavours.
