Gusbourne Brut Reserve 2019

A Pinot driven wine that very much embraces a classic pinot personality being round, generous, textured and brimming with rich, ripe fruit.

36 months ageing on its lees, it demonstrates all of the character we have learned to associate with the grapes that we picked from the Gusbourne vineyards in Kent. Dominated by leafy, earthy, tertiary notes. It reveals a unique fruit profile that features golden, yellow, soft orchard fruits and ripe pears. It offers restraint and a gentle generosity.

Additional Information: Gusbourne Brut Reserve 2016, using only the finest quality fruit is the most valuable ingredient when making solely vintage wines. It is why the Gusbourne range of over 100 base wines are vinified separately by individual vineyard parcel and why annual blending tastings are conducted completely blind and judged entirely on taste. Crafting vintage wines with consistency and style can only be achieved this way. There can be no preconceived ideas or pre-determined plans for how we will use the fruit that we have harvested.

The 2016 Brut Reserve is unique to its growing season and reflective of the time and place in their vineyards. It continues to be dominated by Pinot Noir, which accounts for 53% of the blend, alongside 40% Chardonnay and 7% Pinot Meunier.
