Grapes were hand picked from South facing vineyards in Appledore, Kent and near Goodwood in West Sussex. Blended from 54% Chardonnay, 36% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier whole bunch pressed before fermenting in stainless steel, blended with a small amount of barrel aged red wine before second fermentation. Botted in June 2020 and aged for 36 months on the lees.
Gusbourne have 100 base wines which are vinified separately by individual vineyard parcels, annual blending tastings are conducted ‘blind’. Their reputation of producing quality vintage wines is well deserved!
