A bright, pale golden hue with shimmering golden reflections. The nose is delicate with white flowers, pears, lemon peel and grapefruit, dried fruits and some notes of brioche and honey. The palate is creamy yet crisp with yellow apple, lemon curd, and ripe pear and fine, persistent bubbles forming a delicate mousse and refreshing, chalky finish.

Country: France Region: Reims, Berru Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Meunier
ABV: 12.5%  Bottle Size: 75cl

Additional Information: In the late 1950s, Roger Picard, the mayor of Berru, planted vines on parcels of land that had just been granted the Champagne appellation label and by the early 1960s his son, Jacques, started to produce champagne under his own label.
Sylvie and Corinne, Jacques Picard's two daughters, took over the business in the 1990s and today only produce grower champagne.

They own 17 hectares of vineyards, predominantly Chardonnay, and in addition look after some neighbouring vines in the village for Pol Roger.

All grapes are handharvested. Blend is 75 % chardonnay, 20 % meunier, 5 % pinot noir. Blended with 30 - 40% of reserve wines.

The chardonnay grapes are from the south-east facing slopes on the Berru Mountains, a continuation of the Reims Mountains and are characterised by delicate floral and citrus aromas in the mouth. Menuire and Pinot Noir grapes are from vineyards in Montbré and Avenay Val d'Or

Vinification takes place in stainless steel before ageing for 8 months in tank. The wine is bottle aged on lees for 5 years in cellar at constant temperature and humidity.
