Complex and intoxicating nose of walnuts, dried figs, dried apricots, caramel coffee and chocolate. On the palate, dried stone fruits with treacle, a slight smokiness and a savoury evolving length. Fresh not cloying and very delicious. Medium Sweet.

Additional Information: H.M. Borges was founded in 1877 by Henrique Menezes Borges, who dedicated his entire life to the search for a selection of wines produced on the island of Madeira, with the aim of aging them. In 1924 the company transitioned into being a producer and exporter of Madeira Wine. It is currently managed by the fourth generation of the family.
The Madeira H M Borges 10 Year Old is made from blended wines with an average age of 10 years is made with the Boal variety, harvested from the Campanário Ribeira Brava area.
Grapes handpicked from vineyards grown on acidic volcanic soils directly exposed to sunlight and sea breezes. The climate on the island is influenced by the northeast wind almost all year round.
Grapes are destemmed and pressed grapes under temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for approximately 5 days. Fortification to stop fermentation and retain sweetness with the addition of neutral alcohol, of wine origin, at 96% vol.
Aged in French and American oak casks, in the traditional "canteiro" process until bottling.
