Mersel Wines, Merwah, Phoenix, 2022

Great textured orange wine with a pleasant chalkiness. Fresh orange peel, green apples and lychees balanced by great acidity and a spicy, woody note on the palate.

Grown using regenerative farming methods between 2000 and 2400 meters above Wadi Annoubine, North Lebanon. 

​Hand harvested in mid October from 150 year old vines and then fermented in stainless tanks and amphoras. The wine is fermented on skins for 3 weeks, the cap is gently broken by hand a few times a day, and is then racked off skins in the middle of November into half neutral barrels and half stainless tanks. Due to the cold temperatures in winter (regularly exceeding -5 degrees Celsius) naturally cold stabilizes before being bottled in May.
