Niepoort 'Voyeur' Amphora 2019

Unlike many Douro reds this wine is not about richness and power. Light in colour, and in alcohol, with fresh red fruit aromas complemented with some floral and more earthy notes. Light to medium bodied on the palate with nuances of clay, soft tannins, refreshing acidity and a long lingering finish. Try serving slightly chilled.

Additional Information: An old vine field blend made with a number of different varieties, including some white, from several different plots. Well structured and complex and in the usual creative free spirit of Niepoort, each plot was fermented and then matured for 8 months in 1000 litre clay amphora. After ageing, they opened the various amphorae in the Quinta de Nápoles and created the ideal blend offering the right combination of freshness, good acidity and lightness.
