Giampaolo studied oenology and in 1973, with his brother Cesare, they decided to reopen the winery and chose the name Novaia or ‘new farmyard’ .In 2005, the fourth generation arrived in the company: Marcello (son of Giampaolo) and Cristina (daughter of Cesare). With them, the company moved towards the conversion to organic production, which began in 2011 and was completed with the 2014 harvest. The Vaona family continue to have their headquarters in the 15th Century Palace in the hills of Marano, Valpolicella Classico.
