Aromas of black cherry, pepper, cloves and some floral notes. Intense and smooth in the mouth with juicy cherries, red currants and hints of mushroom. Well structured tannins and pleasant finish.

Additional Information: Located in the hills of North West Empoli, Tuscany, the Poggiotondo estate was bought by Alberto Antonini’s father in 1968. Today the renowned oenologist Alberto and his wife farm the 28 hectares of vineyards organically and allows the grapes to sing by using concrete fermentation tanks and untoasted large oak barrels to age.
85% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo and 5% Colorino, grapes are from seven hectares at 350 meters to 450 Meters in Montefioralle in the north-western part of the Chianti Classico appellation. Vines are between 20 and 70 years old and grapes are harvested by hand.
