Energetic sparkling blush with hedgerow fruit, nettle, summer pudding and hints of brioche on the nose leading to raspberries, toasted almonds and elderflower on the palate. Fresh acidity, dry and well balanced.

Country: England Region: Sussex Grapes: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier

ABV: 12.5% Bottle Size: 75cl

The husband and wife team, Mark and Sarah Driver, built Rathfinny from scratch and planted the first vineyards in 2012 on the South Downs. Today the Rathfinny Estate covers over 200 acres of predominantly Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier in Cradle Valley close to the Cuckmere Valley, all within the South Downs National Park. The tasting rooms, restaurant and accommodation is located just outside of Alfriston. The weather is generally mild on the South Coast and the distance from the coast reduces the chances of frosts. The vineyards are south facing, soils are free-draining consisting of clay loam over chalk and grapes are handpicked.

A blend of 65% Pinot Noir, 35% Pinot Meunier, leading to its beautiful pink colour. Ready to drink now but will age up to ten years. Very versatile and will match with richer dishes such as lamb but also Asian based dishes and richer seafood.
