Additional Information: Tenuta di Collosorbo was started in 1995 by Giovanna Ciacci from the division of her family’s estate, Tenuta di Sesta, which was founded in 1850. The Ciacci family bottled the estate’s first Brunello di Montalcino in 1966 and nowadays Giovanna runs the vineyard with her daughters.

The Rosso di Montalcino grapes come partly from the same vineyards dedicated to Brunello production and partly from newly planted vineyards, located in the southern part of Montalcino, between Sant’Angelo in Colle and Castelnuovo Dell’Abate.  35 hectares of vineyards are protected by the surrounding hills and nearby Mount Amiata, is influenced by the Mediterranean Sea and enjoys a warm and well-ventilated climate.

Hand harvested in small baskets with a quick transfer to the wine cellar. Light destemming and crushing before fermentation at controlled temperatures with frequent pumpovers. Medium maceration on the skins before racking. Aged in French and Slovenian oak barrels for 1 year, then bottled for at least 6 months.
