Clos de la Roilette, Cuvee Tardive 2014 MAGNUM
Clos de la Roilette, Cuvee Tardive 2014 MAGNUM
Deep and youthfully complex on the nose with scents of red and black cherries, dark soil tones, wood smoke, violets, a touch of raw cocoa, fresh sage and peppercorn. On the palate, it is full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with a lovely sappiness and well-integrated tannin.
Country: France Region: Beaujolais Grape: Gamay
ABV: 13% Bottle Size: 150cl
Additional Information: The wines of the Coudert family are best known for their unrivalled complexity and track record of ageing brilliantly. Roilette's Cuvée Tardive is one of the most loved wines of Beaujolais. Tardive is sourced from two parcels of eighty-year-old vines perched on the border of Fleurie and Moulin-à-Vent.
The border of Moulin-à-Vent and Fleurie where the estate is located is home to clay-dominant vineyards. Whereas most of Beaujolais is on granite, the clay and manganese soils of Roilette give a darker and richer expression of Gamay. Blue and black fruits are abundant in all of the estate's wines. Ready to drink now but will also benefit from further ageing.
