Tiny quantities, rare gems, obscure varieties…
This traditional method Schönburger is a truly unique wine. For the past few years, Tim Wildman MW has been discovering and buying up forgotten parcels of traditional method English sparkling wine. One of these ‘forgotten’ wines, a 2010 traditional method Schönburger.
Tim discovered these bottles stored in the shuttered, cobwebbed ballroom of a stately home. Only 150 of these bottles exist and Tim himself doesn’t know all the details of their history. We know, however, that they were vinified at Bolney and that the vineyard was torn up in 2022.
