Tawny in colour. Rich nose of toasted almonds, figs, raisins with hints of leather and cinnamon. Dates, walnuts and burnt sugar on the palate, good acidity to balance the sweetness with chocolate and coffee on the long finish.

Additional Information: The world renowned Bodega Valdespino is one of the oldest bodegas in Jérez, founded in 1264 when King Alfonso X gave Don Alfonso Valdespino land in Jérez. Don Alfonso was one of 24 Christian knights who fought to regain the Jérez from the Moors. Commercial activities are thought to date as far back as 1430 but the company was only formed in 1875. In 1999, Valdespino was bought by Grupo Bodeguero Estévez.
Named after the solero that was started in 1842, this is a blend of Palomino grapes from the white ‘albariza’ soil Carrascal and Macharnudo areas) and very old Pedro Ximénez.
Fermented in 600 litre American oak barrels. Abv at 13% fortified to 20% and allowed to age oxidatively in a solera system for an average of 20 years. 8-10% of Pedro Ximenez was blended in at the half way point.
