Vincent Paris, Cornas 2019 Granit 60
Vincent Paris, Cornas 2019 Granit 60
Tasting Note: Spice and mineral-tinged dark berries, potpourri, olive and a hint of smoky bacon on the highly perfumed nose. Juicy, focused and appealingly sweet, offering densely packed blueberry, cherry liqueur, liquorice and candied violet flavours supported by a spine of juicy acidity. Slowly mounting tannins add grip to an impressively persistent, finely etched finish that strongly repeats the floral note.

Vincent Paris inherited his magnificent vineyards, primarily in Cornas but a little in St Joseph too, from his grandfather. He was also blessed with 30-60-year-old Syrah which he purchased from his famous uncle, Robert Michel, who is regarded as one of the finest growers in southern France. After working at the former J.L. Grippat estate and with Laurent Courbis, Vincent established his own domain in 1997. Vincent worked closely with his uncle Robert for his first couple of vintages before breaking out alone. The experience of working side by side with Robert Michel has proven to be tremendously influential in crafting Vincent's approach to winemaking and his respect for the vine.
