Intense on the nose, almost sherry like aromas of yeast and almonds with touches of grass. Fresh and very dry, notes of chalk and nuts on the palate with minerality on the finish.

Additional Information: .A collaboration between the passionate group of traditional Andalusian wine lovers, Equipo Navazos and 5th generation Portuguese wine and port producers Dirk and Verena Niepoort. Navazos started in 2005 after a group of friends ‘discovered’ a number of barrels of high quality, very old amontillado that had never been bottled or sold. They began to bottle a small select amount for friends which spurred them on to hunt for other hidden treasures and the passion project grew from there. Today they work with local producers from across Jerez, Sanlucar, El Puerto and Montilla to identify high quality barrels and bottle small amounts as well as collaborating with innovative wine makers to produce unusual and character driven wines. Grapes for this wine have been grown in albariza soil vineyards in Machardnudo Alto, Jerez. The wine is fermented in 600L sherry butts using only natural, indigenous yeasts under flor for four to five months without fortification, unlike Fino or Manzanilla sherries.
Is elevated when accompanied by food and will pair well with a variety of tapas: shellfish, ham and nutty cheeses
