Dönnhoff, Pinot Noir Sekt 2018
Dönnhoff, Pinot Noir Sekt 2018
A white pinot noir with notes of apple and pear. On the palate, apple, peach and yeasty notes with hints of walnut. Crisp and dry, refreshing bubbles with a long finish. A great aperitif.

Additional Information: Helmut Dönnhoff has been making wine for over 40 vintages in the heart of the Nahe region and was joined by his son Cornelius in 2007. The Domaine consists of nine different single vineyard sites across 25 hectares, all of which are classified as Grand Cru. The Dönnhoff family has been making wine in this region since the 1750s. Helmut Dönnhoff took over in 1971 where the estate expanded to around 20 hectares, and also grew in reputation. Today his son, Cornelius Dönnhoff, oversees all operations and Dönnhoff is considered to be one of Germany’s top producers.
The grapes come from the very steep Roxheimer Höllenpfad site, with its infamous red sandstone ‘the road to hell’.
Hand harvested, fermented then matured in 60-year-old barrels before put into bottles for second fermentation, 50 months on the lees. Turned and disgorged by hand.
